KATHRYN CASELLO
LCSW
Kathryn Casello, LSW, began her advocacy journey as the co-founder of the You Are Not Alone (YANA) suicide prevention outreach program. During that time, Kathryn served on the Alaska Statewide Suicide Prevention Council and helped expand YANA across Alaska and eventually to Florida State University.
Kathryn earned two bachelor's degrees—in social work and political science—followed by a master's degree in social work, all by the age of 22. While at FSU, Kathryn helped create a student mental health council, conducted research on trauma and incarceration with the College of Social Work, and interned at the Leon County Courthouse Victim Advocacy Program as well as the Public Policy departments of Disability Rights Florida, and TAPS. In 2019, Kathryn was recognized as the Social Work Student of the Year for the state of Florida.
In Washington, DC, Kathryn served as the Program Coordinator for the Woman’s National Democratic Club. She later worked as a master’s-level clinician at Lakeview Center's Child Abuse Prevention Expansion program. Kathryn is currently working to support active duty military members as a Clinical Counselor at the Substance Assessment Counseling Center (SACC) on Marine Corps Base Hawai’i (MCBH).
